[Google Sheets] How To Move To Top Or Specific Cell

If you can quickly moved to the top or any specific cell in Google Sheets through shortcut keys, is it a very convenient thing?

Many people use Google Sheets to record some items that need to be remembered in daily life, such as expenditures, completion progress of plans… etc.

However, when things get more and more records, the entire list continues to extend downward; at this time, if you want to check at some of the first items, scrolling up becomes a very troublesome thing.

If there is a shortcut key that can help us quickly move to the top, that would be great. Since ew all want it, the smart people in Google are impossible to ignore.

In below, I will record how to accomplish this.


Use F5 shortcut key to use “Go to range” function

There is a useful function in Google Sheets called “Go to range“. As the name suggests, this command allows us to enter the field we want to reach and move to the place instantly.

But be noted, this function’s shortcut key in Google Sheets is F5, if the compatibility mode of Google Sheets is not turned on, the shortcut key just only refreshed the webpage.


Step 1: Enable compatible spreadsheet shortcuts

Help > Keyboard shortcuts > Enable compatible spreadsheet shortcuts.




Step 2: Enter the field you want to go

Suppose I am at the bottom of Google Sheets and I want to move to the top, then I can use the shortcut key to call the “Go to range” function, and enter A1:

After pressing the OK button, it will instantly return to the top of the Google Sheets.
