Recently, I started to record the process of playing games by myself, and after I finished playing, I edited the videos to form my thoughts.
Among these, what bothers me the most is how to add subtitles to the video? After all, it is inconvenient to use iMovie in Mac OS to upload subtitles.
Due to the fate, I found the ArcTime Pro tool. Although it was said that the official website of the point of entry was all in simplified Chinese, it made me a little resisted for a moment, but I believe that I will seriously make a beautiful logo developers!
Here, I simply record how to use ArcTime Pro, a tool that specializes in subtitles on videos!
Step 1: Download and Install
ArcTime Pro can work on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
First, go to the official website to download: http://arctime.cn/download-arctime.html
Select your operating system.
On Mac OS, the file you download is a compression file, after decompression, you will see the following screen:
But at this time we cannot execute ArcTime Pro, because this tool is not release through Apple’s official store.
So if you want to use ArcTime Pro, you really have to evaluate system security problems yourself.
Step 2: Give ArcTime Pro permissions
Apple icon in the upper left corner > System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General。
You should see the following screen: “ArcTime Pro” was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.
Of course, we have to choose Open Anyway!
Then you should see the opened screen.
Step 3: Import video, add the subtitles
First you need to import the video, and add the subtitles on the right field.
One line is one line of subtitles.
Then press the icon button in the picture.
Then you can directly pull out subtitles line by line on the video audio data, which is quite convenient.
You can refer to the sample video below.
This method of directly decided the input subtitles onto the audio data line by line is quite useful. You can adjust the length of the subtitles while confirming the audio.
Experience
I don’t know about other versions, but if you are a Mac OS user like me, then the conclusion is that I don’t recommend ArcTime Pro.
By the way, the laptop I use is MacBook Pro 2020, not M1.
- The video will stay in place when moving the window, creating a sense of broken image
- The UI design is very unintuitive (it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Mac OS)
- The optimization is not good on Mac OS. After I start ArcTime Pro, even moving the mouse will freeze
Recommend a better alternative please, thanks!
