[Word] Use Template To Change Chart Type

Last Updated on 2021-10-01 by Clay

When we insert a chart in Word, the default color of chart is not necessarily the color user like. Of course, we can manual change the color of chart component.

First we insert a Column:

Use default data:

The default color is:

And we can click the component in the chart, and change the color we want.

The question is: If we have a lot of charts and it needs a lot of time to change the color, how should we do?

In Word, we can customize a Template to store the color we like of chart, if we want to apply to another chart, we can use template to do it.

Use Template

First we need to save a template we want.

Save as Template

Insert > Chart > Save as Template. The template I named is test.crtx.

Apply

Create a new chart, right click it, Change Chart Type > Template > Select The Template You Want (In here is test.crtx).

As you can see, the chart applies the template just created.
