[iPad] “Not Charging” is displayed when using a computer to connect to the tablet

Possible reasons why iPad is not charging

Generally speaking, when the iPad is charged with a cable, an icon like “green battery with lightning in the center” appears. This has also become important for many iPhone and iPad users to judge whether their device is charging or not.

Many people should have this question, why the charging icon will be displayed when the iPhone is connected to the computer using the cable, but the iPad will instantly display the charging icon, and then again what about return to uncharge?

In fact, the reason is very simple. The USB of a computer uses 500mA of power supply. For the iPhone, this is enough for the device to determine that it is charging.

However, for the iPad, the power supply speed is so slow that its system thinks it is not charging status.

However, our iPad can still be charged! It’s just really slow and slow. Let’s take a look at the results of my test below.

My test

In the morning.

As you can see, the current battery level is 78%
After connecting the laptop, the charging icon appears now.
It’s a pity that the charging icon flashed by, and then it returned to “Not Charging”

However, is this the end? Actually it won’t.

I ran to develop the program for a while, and was tortured by BUG and my stupidity for a while. I really forgot the exact time.

But I came back to see the iPad and unplugged the charging cable.

Pay attention to the power display in the upper right corner

It can be seen that the power has increased from 78% to 82%. Although it is slow, it is not impossible to charge.

However, it is recommended that everyone use the socket to charge it.
