Last Updated on 2021-10-22 by Clay

I have used the famous BLUEHOST that I host my WordPress website, there is no any big problem in the past few years. But today when I wanted to activate the Cloudflare service in the BLUEHOST backend, the following error message appeared:

There was a problem charging Cloudflare settings.

I tried several times, but the same error message show.

Solution

According to the post at the Cloudflare community: https://community.cloudflare.com/t/cloudflare-problem-installing-in-bluehost/178181, there is a man got the same error with me.

The best reply below does not seem to solve this problem, but it seems to have completely solved this problem.

Simply put, you have only two methods:

  • Contact BLUEHOST customer service staff to ask about your problems
  • You can directly activate Cloudflare yourself, which usually works better

I chose the second plan, the detailed steps are recorded in the article:

I succeeded. It is really a good way and let me understand the services provided by Cloudflare.
